Who We AreBased in San Francisco, California, Signal House Research was founded by James Neal, an accomplished research leader with two decades of experience spanning market and UX research.
James has partnered with product, marketing, brand, and executive teams across technology, FinTech, consumer brands, and nonprofits—helping organizations navigate complexity, identify opportunity and make confident decisions. Drawing from deep experience in both product and marketing organizations, he brings a rare cross-functional perspective and a proven ability to translate research into strategy, roadmaps, and measurable business impact.
Before founding Signal House Research in 2023, he developed his perspective with roles at global market research consultancies (Nielsen, GfK) and a number of highly impactful internal roles at Fitbit, Square/Block, and Yelp, where he served as Head of Research, leading the teams responsible for market and UX research globally. He is deeply passionate about championing research as a strategic function and helping organizations make thoughtful, data-based decisions.
